THE ROLE:
The Hotel Systems Support will report to the Hotel Systems Manager and is responsible for hotel systems oversight, support, and project development/management, maximizing the use of our existing solutions and enhance the hotel systems within InnVest Hotels’ multi-site, multi-brand hotel portfolio.
The Hotel Systems Support is expected to have a strong skillset and understanding in hospitality technologies, brand standards, hotel systems support, vendor management, hotel systems implementation and project management.
This is an overall scope of the role but is not an exhaustive list of tasks. InnVest Hotels reserves the right to add/amend tasks as the role evolves and as the flexibility of the business requires.
ACTIVITIES:
- Supports IT hotel systems across the InnVest Hotels portfolio, guest facing and back office systems – Property Management Systems, Restaurant Point of Sale Systems, High Speed Internet Access Systems, PBX Phone Systems, Hotel TV Systems, brand systems, merchant services and systems, business centers, life and safety systems, etc..
- Ongoing support of projects/systems and handling hotel IT systems change requests and supporting product releases.
- Works with staff to review and deliver their current and future IT hotel system requirements.
- Maintains hotel systems and IT brand standards for existing and new hotels (customer facing and back of house) then liaising with appointed stakeholders.
- Acts as pre-opening hotel IT systems SME when required and assist in assessing technology and partners.
- Keeps aligned with brand standards and developments to advise on product changes and to support corporate IT team.
- Project Management – keeps stakeholders updated, project updates and communication, creating and delivering to plans.
- Support with annual IT capital and operational budgets.
- Owning and managing relationships with vendors.
- Ad hoc support to the InnVest team overall.
- Coordinates activities with the various sub-contractors and vendors as required to execute projects; solicits quotes and prepares comparison analysis.
- Coordinates communication with Vendors, Project Managers, IT, Hotel operations and Capital Projects team.
- Participates in activities to gain knowledge of new technologies in the Hospitality sector both related to future technologies adoptions related to brands and emerging technologies.
COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:
Academic/Education Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Technology, Hospitality, or the equivalent combination of certifications and work experience.
- Project Management (PMP), Scrum Master designation is an asset.
- Hospitality specific certifications/designations is an asset.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Experience of operating in a multi-site, multi-brand hotel IT function of a large-sized company, both remotely and on site.
- Experience in hospitality IT.
- Ability to confidently own problems and solve issues.
- Must have excellent written and spoken English and ability to explain complex and/or technical issues clearly and accurately in simple terms to non-IT stakeholders.
- French considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of front office and back-office hotel systems – Property Management Systems, Restaurant Point of Sale Systems, High Speed Internet Access Systems, PBX Phone Systems, Hotel TV Systems, brand systems, merchant services and systems, business centers, life and safety systems, structured cabling.
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, networking protocols.
- Ability to own, facilitate and lead meetings, workshops, and structured sessions with non-IT teams.
- Experience of delivering hosted and on-premises enterprise hotel systems.
- Awareness of IT Security.
- Proven delivery of hotel systems to time, budget, and quality.
- Competent user of Excel, comfortable with setting up Excel reports and creating cost comparison analysis.
- Demonstrated superior analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and multi-project work.
- Self-motivated, takes initiative in creating and refining processes and workflows.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent relationship skills, able to build and maintain a diverse relationship base.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Required to work flexible schedule depending on deadlines.
- Travel to project sites as required.

- Frequent mental and visual concentration during computer work daily.
- Frequent listening and mental attentiveness in dealing with Customer or Public, and Manager’s requirements.
- Frequent mental effort required in multi-tasking and handling interruptions that require constant refocusing.

- Continuously requires manual dexterity speed and hand/eye coordination to operate computer systems daily.
- Periodic lifting of computer hardware and equipment such as servers, routers, etc.
Responsibility for Resources:
- Responsible for work area.
- Responsible for confidential IT documents, equipment, and protocols related to the company.
Working Conditions
- Continuously working at a workstation assigned by the Manager.
- Continuously working in a climate-controlled office.
- Infrequent travel to properties as required.
- Frequent meetings to discuss various IT subject matter.
