Comfort Inn Airport Winnipeg honoured with Renovation of the Year
Winnipeg, MB (November 22, 2021) − Choice Hotels Canada has announced the national winners of its prestigious 2021 APEX Awards (Awards for Property Excellence). The Comfort Inn Airport Winnipeg is the recipient of the award for Renovation of the Year.

The award recognizes a property that completed renovations that subsequently drove growth in guest satisfaction. This includes guest feedback that focused on increases in the overall condition of the room, as well as their likelihood to recommend the hotel in future. Altogether 12 national APEX Awards, which recognize stellar performance, ongoing commitment to guest service and community leadership, were distributed to top performing properties and individuals across the country.
Comfort Inn Airport Winnipeg was the first in Canada to adapt to the new Rise and Shine Comfort prototype. The extensive renovations, which were completed in 2019, included the exterior, all the public spaces including the lobby, and all the guest rooms. Guest rooms feature new bedding and pillow-top mattresses, as well as vinyl flooring and carpeting. In-room amenities include 43” flat-screen televisions, a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Complimentary breakfast, high-speed Wifi and airport shuttles are provided for guests.
The hotel is committed to providing environmentally friendly accommodations with a focus on reducing its carbon footprint, including introducing bulk-sized shampoo and conditioner products to limit the use of single use plastics in 2022.
